Registered Fund
A Cayman open-ended fund registered with CIMA under section 4(3) of the Mutual Funds Act, the most common registration category for hedge funds.
A registered fund is an open-ended Cayman fund that registers with CIMA under the Mutual Funds Act rather than holding a fund licence or using a licensed administrator. It is the most widely used category for hedge funds, subject to minimum investment or listing requirements, the appointment of a Cayman-approved auditor, and the filing of audited financial statements and an annual return. Registration must be maintained for as long as the fund carries on business.
