Umbrella Fund
A single fund structure, often an SPC, that houses multiple sub-funds or portfolios under one legal entity.
An umbrella structure accommodates multiple sub-funds or investment pools within a common framework. An SPC can provide statutory segregation between portfolios under Cayman law, whereas ordinary share classes do not automatically create separate liability pools. Legal personality, contracting, accounting, regulatory filings and any portfolio-specific registration requirements must be assessed for the actual structure.
