Valuation Policy
A documented framework setting out how a fund's assets are valued, by whom, and how frequently, to ensure a reliable NAV.
A valuation policy sets out pricing methods, sources, frequency, responsibilities and procedures for exceptions and conflicts. It supports consistent calculation of assets, liabilities and net asset value. Cayman requirements depend on the applicable fund regime. Where an operator or manager performs valuation, applicable independence and conflict-identification, management, monitoring and disclosure requirements must be addressed. Hard-to-value assets require documented judgement and appropriate oversight.
