Venture Capital Fund
A closed-ended fund investing in early-stage and growth companies, usually as an exempted limited partnership.
A venture capital fund is a closed-ended fund that invests in early-stage and high-growth companies, typically taking minority equity positions and supporting portfolio companies through successive financing rounds. Like private equity funds, Cayman venture funds are usually structured as exempted limited partnerships and regulated under the Private Funds Act, with terms addressing commitment draw-downs, follow-on reserves and carried interest.
Classification and registration depend on the full statutory definition, the entity’s terms and applicable exclusions. Strategy labels alone do not determine the regulatory route.
