Cayman Foundation Company
A Cayman company that can operate like a foundation — with no shareholders and beneficiaries or purposes — widely used for DAOs, token projects and ownerless structures.
A Cayman foundation company is a body corporate formed under the Foundation Companies Act that combines the separate legal personality and limited liability of a company with features of a civil-law foundation. It can be structured to have no shareholders once established, to pursue defined objects or purposes (which may be charitable, non-charitable or commercial), and to be governed by its memorandum, articles and any bylaws. Foundation companies are widely used for DAO and protocol structures, token issuance, ownerless or “orphan” holding vehicles, and philanthropic purposes, because they can hold assets and act autonomously without traditional owners.
