Virtual Asset
A digital representation of value that can be traded or transferred and used for payment or investment, as defined under the VASP Act.
A virtual asset is, broadly, a digital representation of value that can be digitally traded or transferred and used for payment or investment purposes, as defined under the Virtual Asset (Service Providers) Act. The definition is central to determining whether an activity falls within the VASP regime. Certain digital representations; such as fiat currencies and, in some cases, digital assets that cannot be transferred or traded; may fall outside the definition; classification should be confirmed against the current Act.
