Token Generation Event
The event at which a project's tokens are created and first distributed to holders.
A token generation event (TGE) is the point at which a blockchain project's tokens are created and first distributed to purchasers, contributors or the community. The TGE is a focal point for legal and regulatory planning: the issuing structure, the terms of distribution, applicable securities and virtual-asset analysis, KYC/AML on participants, and the governance of proceeds all need to be resolved before the event. Robust structuring and documentation reduce legal and reputational risk.
