Economic Substance Notification
The annual filing by which a Cayman entity declares its economic substance classification and whether it carries on a relevant activity.
The economic substance notification is an annual declaration, generally made as part of the entity's annual return process, in which a Cayman entity states whether it is a relevant entity, whether it carries on a relevant activity, and its tax-residence position. It is a prerequisite to the entity's annual return and precedes any economic substance return. All in-scope entities must file the notification, whether or not they ultimately carry on a relevant activity.
