Proliferation Financing
The provision of funds or services used to manufacture or acquire weapons of mass destruction, subject to specific risk-assessment obligations.
Proliferation financing refers to the provision of funds or financial services used, in whole or in part, for the manufacture, acquisition or development of weapons of mass destruction and related activities, contrary to international obligations. Cayman entities are required to assess and mitigate proliferation-financing risk as part of their financial-crime framework, alongside money-laundering and terrorist-financing controls, and to apply targeted financial sanctions where they arise.
