Beneficial Ownership
The natural persons who ultimately own or control a Cayman entity, information on whom must be maintained under the beneficial ownership regime.
Beneficial ownership refers to the natural persons who ultimately own or control a legal entity, whether through ownership of interests, voting rights or other means of control. Cayman's beneficial ownership transparency regime requires in-scope entities to identify their beneficial owners and maintain adequate, accurate and current information, generally through a beneficial ownership register maintained via a corporate services provider. The regime forms part of the Cayman Islands' commitment to international transparency standards; specific scope, thresholds and exemptions should be confirmed against the current legislation and guidance.
