Money Laundering Reporting Officer
The natural person appointed to receive and assess internal suspicious activity reports and liaise with the Cayman Financial Reporting Authority.
The Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) is a natural person, at management level, appointed by a Cayman entity conducting relevant financial business to receive internal suspicious activity reports, assess them and, where appropriate, report to the Cayman Islands Financial Reporting Authority. The Anti-Money Laundering Regulations require in-scope entities; including regulated funds; to appoint an MLRO, together with a Deputy MLRO (DMLRO) and an Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (AMLCO). These roles may be outsourced to a suitably qualified service provider, subject to appropriate oversight.
